About InjuryMath

An independent site for people dealing with the financial side of an injury claim.

Last updated October 6, 2026

After an accident, most of the information you find is written to get you to call a law firm or sign up for funding. Very little of it answers the practical questions: how much of a settlement you’ll keep, what you’ll owe out of it, how long it takes, and what the rules in your state actually say.

InjuryMath exists to answer those questions clearly, with the math and the sources in plain sight.

What we do

  • Calculators that model settlement payouts, deadlines and costs from published rules — federal regulations, state statutes and court rules.
  • Guides that explain each step of the money side of a claim in plain English, with worked examples.
  • State tables that collect the rules that differ from state to state, each linked to its source and dated when reviewed.

What we don’t do

  • We are not a law firm and don’t give legal advice or refer cases.
  • We don’t collect your case details, and we don’t sell leads to law firms or funding companies.
  • We don’t publish settlement “averages” we can’t source, or invented case examples.

How our content is made

We use software tools, including AI, to help research and draft. Every page is checked against the primary sources it cites and reviewed by an editor before it’s published, and it shows the date it was last updated. Read our editorial policy andhow we calculate.

How we’re funded

InjuryMath is free to use and supported by advertising. Advertisers have no say in what we publish. See ouradvertising disclosure.
